# Remotai

> Remotai is a remote access service for controlling your own Windows computers, Macs, and Linux servers from Android, iPhone, a web browser, or Telegram. The product interface and primary documentation are in Russian.

Remotai combines a persistent PTY terminal, SSH and SFTP, Remote Desktop, file access, system monitoring, and supervision of CLI AI agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Kimi, Gemini, Aider, and OpenCode.

Remote Desktop adapts to the connection and streams up to 30 frames per second (up to 12 on the free tier). On a headless Linux server, Remotai starts a virtual browser on a 1280x800 virtual display.

The managed computer makes an outbound TLS connection to the Remotai cloud relay. Users do not need a public IP address, port forwarding, or router configuration. A new phone is paired with a short-lived QR code or one-time code.

Supported managed systems: Windows 10/11, macOS 12+ on Apple Silicon or Intel, and Linux on amd64 or arm64. Remote Desktop is not yet available on macOS; terminals, files, SSH, monitoring, and AI agents are. Supported control clients: Android 7+, the web app on iPhone, iPad, or desktop browsers, and Telegram Mini App.

During the public beta, all Pro capabilities are available free of charge. The local-network mode is intended to remain free after paid cloud plans launch.

The cloud stores account and paired-device records, minimal product analytics events, and support messages submitted by the user. Terminal contents, commands, filenames, screen frames, keystrokes, clipboard contents, and transferred file contents are not retained as product analytics.

## Installation and downloads

Setup has two steps and two different devices. Step 1: install the agent on the Windows computer, Mac, or Linux server that will be controlled — the Windows installer is a desktop .exe and cannot be run on a phone. On macOS and Linux the agent installs with a single shell command; on macOS it must be run without sudo, because the agent runs inside the user session. Step 2: install the phone client (Android APK, the web app, or the Telegram Mini App) and pair it with the one-time QR code shown on the computer.
